Inspired by the works of Holly Black, Julie Kagawa, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and classic Celtic and English folklore, the Winter Fae’s Blight series follows faery Deirdre and two human brothers, Iain and James, and their ragtag group of allies as they try to stop a brewing war between the human military and the Faerie Courts across a 7-book series.
Every author dreams of hearing their stories come alive through an audiobook! My co-author and I believe that human-written stories need real, human narrators to do the work justice. The Winter Fae’s Blight series is told through multiple POVs, so we wanted two narrators to allow the characters to shine.
The Kickstarter will run from June 10 to July 9, and features a wide variety of digital and physical rewards. Check it out HERE to learn more! 😊
Tomorrow, K.C. Lannon and I are starting a Kickstarter to turn The Changeling’s Fortune into a dual-narrator audiobook!
We’re committed to getting experienced, human narrators and compensating them fairly — so the Kickstarter is a must. The rewards are quite varied, ranging from ebooks to signed books to themed scented candles (which have been a lot of fun to sort out)! If you’re interested, please check it out here!
I also have plans to start uploading an ongoing comic (Writer Woes) on here — there will be more posts about the Kickstarter and that comic in the days to come 😊
Today is the release of the 7th and final book in the Winter’s Blight series: The Queen’s Winter.
A broken curse. A forbidden magic. A final battle.
When the Winter Queen spirits away her champion to her court, Iain Callaghan is at the mercy of the bloodthirsty Unseelies and their ruthless king. As he tries to save the queen and sabotage the Court, can he trust an old enemy if it means his survival?
Meanwhile, Deirdre battles the Winter King’s forces as well as her own prejudices against her Unseelie heritage, while her adoptive sister Alvey tries to bridge the gap between the human army and Seelie Court by cooperating with Vera, a defector of the Winter Court. Working alongside them are Alan and James, who are also hatching a risky rescue mission to both help Iain and turn the tide of the war.
As old memories emerge, Raisa must choose whether to try and trust again, connecting with both her past and Sir Cai—or to make a stand with the Winter Court and its legions of monsters and faeries.
In this thrilling conclusion to the Winter’s Blight series, Deirdre and her allies must fight not only to save the country but also their futures.
In August I also released a series of videos on my Youtube channel all about co-writing this series and the various ups and downs along the way. Check it out here!
After being released on Kindle Vella last summer/fall, the Clifford Spock Incident is coming to Kindle and is ready for pre-order! I’m also working on getting a print copy put together; hopefully it’ll be shipshape and ready to go on July 8 (the Kindle release date — and the anniversary of the Roswell Crash).
Deirdre and Iain are trapped in the Winter Court after the young faery was lured there by the Winter King. He assigns an unwilling Raisa, the Winter Queen, to train Deirdre to control her wild, unstable magic, a task that is fraught with peril for both women. Iain is isolated, encased by protective magic – but it may not be enough to keep him safe from all the dangers and schemes of the Unseelies.
As the Unseelies embark on their Wild Hunt and pave the way for an invasion, the Iron Guard moves to recall their people from the area of the Summer Court, led by Edgar Windsor, the heir to the throne and Alvey’s uncle. He and his men are on a collision course with both the Seelies and their captive, General Alan Callaghan, who is guilty of high treason. With his fate uncertain, Alan dreams of reconciliation and forgiveness from his family. But he must first grapple with his crimes against the Seelie faeries and the human army.
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*✲゚*。⋆ It’s finally here! K.C. (who made a rad book trailer ) and I worked so hard on this baby, and I’m crazy excited to finally share it with readers!
First, the next book in Winter’s Blight — The Stolen Vow — is available for pre-order!
Clicking on this lovely cover will take you to the preorder page!
“There are many rooms in the Winter Court, but none shall take you out of it.”
The Cait Sidhe has been defeated. James, Cai, and Cecil’s sister, Vera, are alone on the wild moors. But there is no time to rest or mourn.
The book is released on August 18th, just less than a month away! It’s the second-to-last book in the series, and K.C. and I are so stoked to get it out into the world!
Second, I’m publishing The Clifford Spock Incident on Kindle Vella!
An aesthetic for the story from 2018
Previously titled The Greenwood Incident, the story kicks off when Clifford, a 20-year-old mechanic and ardent believer in UFOs, is rejected by his long-time crush and finally has a close encounter when a flying saucer nearly crashes into his truck. The two aliens onboard, Nigel and Phil, accept his offer to fix their ship and hide them from prying eyes. But in a small town where gossiping old ladies haunt every street corner, secrets are hard to keep. And when a reckless alien assassin appears on the scene, secrecy may be the least of Clifford’s worries.
The first 3 episodes are free to read, and the story updates every Saturday with longer episodes. It’s kind of like getting a 40-minute special of a really enjoyable cartoon every Saturday morning. Click HERE to start reading!
Finally, Moonblast is also going up on Tapas and ComicFury! I intend to update them next on next Tuesday, but I may go to a once-a-week model after that to help things get caught up to the most recent updates. We’re almost at page 20, which is super exciting!
The page on my comics has been updated, primarily with information about my Pokemon fancomic, Moonblast. As of today it’s about 17 pages into the story, with lots of bonus side comics and content also available on its Tumblr page. If you enjoy Pokemon and autumn/Halloween vibes, it’s a perfect fit!
After standing trial in the Summer Court, James is sent on a quest to kill the Cait Sidhe, the monstrous faery cat who manipulated him into betraying the Seelie faeries and destroying the magical barrier that protected them. When the time comes to kill the beast, James decides to trick him into helping undo his mistake. But the man beneath the beast, Cecil Morris, is just as dangerous, and his manor, Heatherfield, is full of wild and deadly magic. In trying to reach Cecil, James risks being pulled into the darkness with him.
The 5th book in the Winter’s Blight series was released this Halloween! Also near the end of October, we hit 100 ratings for the first book in the series — which isn’t too shabby, considering we began with fewer than 10 ratings at the start of the year!
My co-writer and I drafted this book during the lockdown this spring and early summer. It certainly posed unique challenges, but the hard work paid off!
If you are new to the series, the first book (linked above) is free to read on Kindle!
